Rod/Wire price increase. Order for Q3/Q4 ASAP.

We just received some grim news from one of our major wire suppliers: The Russia-Ukraine War is driving the price of scrap and steel up to the highest levels yet.

Here’s what our supplier had to say late last week:

“Based on what the rod mills are reporting [the Russia-Ukraine War] is developing into a serious price escalation on scrap. Yesterday, we heard it was as high as $200/ton. Domestic scrap is now being purchased from countries like Turkey and other European countries — as availability has dried up in Europe due to the Ukraine crisis. Alloys/materials that are used to make steel are also becoming in short supply. … We may see rod/wire increases as high as $10/cwt or higher.”

Not only do we anticipate that these increases will be effective immediately, but we anticipate prices will continue to increase in the coming months. We’re sharing this news with you because not only do we strive for transparency and honesty around here, but we also support the freedom-loving people of Ukraine and are committed to complying with the laws and regulations of the markets in which we conduct business. This includes honoring US economic sanctions and export controls. We do not and will not do business with Russian companies or manufacturers.

However, we also want to offer you the best prices possible, and to do this we need your orders for Q3 and Q4 ASAP.

When we receive your order commitment, we’ll immediately attempt to secure adequate supplies to fill your order. We commit to passing that savings directly on to you,  whenever we make your pre-ordered springs. PLEASE NOTE: We’ll do our very best to secure materials for you; however, we cannot guarantee availability as the industry was already suffering from supply chain and product availability issues.

So that we can continue to reliably serve you and offer you the best spring prices possible, send us your forecasts and commitments for Q3 and Q4 2022 immediately.
