ABOUT

Tennessee Spring & Metal

Interior of Tennessee Spring and Metal

We weren’t always Tennessee Spring & Metal, but we’ve always been a top spring supplier, manufacturing top-quality springs right here in the USA.

We were established as General Spring in Hyannis, Massachusetts in 1963. Operating under the name General Spring & Wire, the company originally manufactured torsion, extension, and compression springs. Much like we do today here in Tennessee.

Taking advantage of a booming automotive market, the company made the strategic decision to relocate to Middle Tennessee in the 1980s. To reflect our new home, we became Tennessee Spring & Metal.

Believe it or not, many of the same hard-working employees remain with the company today. With an impressive 300 years of combined spring manufacturing experience, the Tennessee Spring & Metal family has the experience, dedication, and commitment your company is looking for.

What We Do

As a leading metal spring supplier, Tennessee Spring & Metal manufactures and distributes compression, extension, torsion, and specialty springs. Notable Firsts

First in "Color Box" Labeling

Color Box Labeling

The color box on the label corresponds to the color code of the springs – industry standard or your unique color. Each color is a customizable, unique identifier. Easy identification makes receiving, inventory, and production easier for non-technical employees, as the different colors can correspond to different products or locations.

First in Bar Coded Labeling

Bar Code Labeling

Each skid is labelled with a unique barcode which is customizable to contain information unique to your needs. Receiving has never been easier, identification is simple, aged inventory is no longer a problem, and traceability from the rod mill all the way to the customer is achieved with ease.

First in Permanent Lubrication Technology

Permenant-Lubricationsm.jpg

Lubri-Dep is a proprietary coating that is bonded to the spring surface and deadens the harmonic noise at a wide range of frequencies which are associated with flexing. It also permanently lubricates and reduces friction in the spring, extending its life.

First in Returnable Skids

First in Sustainability

Our commitment to the environment is represented in not only our energy-saving product design, but also in the materials and processes used in our products. We utilize environmentally friendly technologies in the production of springs, as well as recycled packaging in the shipping of our products. All steel used at Tennessee Spring is formed, in part, with recycled steel.

First in VOC-free Coatings

We ban the use of Volatile Organic Compounds in our coating of springs, resulting in a more environmentally conscious product. VOCs can be harmful to plants and animals, and Tennessee Spring’s commitment to the environment prevents the use of such toxic material.
